Internship with Best Life

Hi I’m Oscar, and I've just completed a wonderful internship with the Best Life office team. I’ve spent 3 months creating marketing content alongside the lovely people that work in the office, to help provide more support to the local community.

My big aim has been to show the wider community just how passionate the people at Best Life are, using video and social media. By doing this, I’ve been lucky enough to speak to and hear from clients, companions, local business owners, and unpaid carers, and learn about the beauty of care and why Best Life is so amazing.

These conversations have been turned into short videos, to drive traffic to our website and improve accessibility to our services.

The Best Life Podcast has been a joy to set up and listen to. So far we’ve had local business owners and unpaid carers, with a couple more interesting guests on the way in the near future, all hosted by our wonderful founder Emma! Hearing about the challenges and experiences in care from our guests has been a real eye-opener for me, in particular the workload that unpaid carers have to manage.

I’ve really enjoyed the opportunity to improve my content creation and marketing skills, particularly video editing, which I’ve come to realise is an area I want to pursue. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support from Emma, Luanna and the rest of the Best Life team who have given me the opportunities and flexibility to create my own goals and find my own place in the team over the last 3 months.
